Six questions to ask any provider

Including the ones that are awkward for us. A provider who cannot answer these precisely has not run the programme at scale.

What exactly does the school have to provide?
Ask for this in writing before anything else: space, staff time, timetable impact and administrative load. A provider who cannot answer precisely has not run this at scale.
Who delivers the sessions, and how are they trained?
Ask who stands in front of your students, how they were selected, what training they had, and what happens when one is unavailable.
What is the safeguarding position?
Ask for the child safety policy, the reporting route, and what happens in the first hour after a concern is raised. Ours is published rather than sent on request.
How does it handle AI?
Any programme touching AI with children should be able to say what it does, what it refuses to do, and why. If the answer is vague, that is the answer.
What does it do for students who are not thriving?
Programmes that only work for confident, articulate students are common. Ask what the experience is for a quiet child or one who struggles academically.
How will we know if it worked?
Ask what evidence looks like and when you would see it. Be sceptical of anyone promising measurable academic gains from an enrichment programme.
